Jeff is a 1990 summa cum laude graduate from the Physical Therapy Program at Fresno State University. A Sacramento native, Jeff is co-owner of Alves & Martinez Physical Therapy, where he focuses on orthopedic and sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and movement related disorders including Parkinson’s disease. Jeff is passionate about helping people of all ages in our community remain active at an optimum level and live independently on their own terms. Jeff is a well-established & respected member of the Sacramento physical therapy community.

Prior to establishing the Alves & Martinez clinic in May 2001, Jeff opened Alves Physical Therapy in May 2000. He also worked for Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento as a Clinician, and at McCarthy Physical Therapy in Roseville. Jeff is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery/PWR!Moves Certified Physical Therapist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and certified in Functional Movement Screening.
In addition, he has completed several long-term Orthopedic Manual Therapy programs and has been published in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. Jeff has served as a consultant to area high school athletic programs and worked with local high school, collegiate, and professional athletes over the course of his career. He is also a voluntary faculty member at the University of Southern California division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy DPT Program.
Jeff resides in Elk Grove with his wife and is they are the proud parents of 2 grown children. He enjoys spending time with his family, music and outdoor activities. He is a 2-time Boston Marathon qualifier and has completed 2 full distance Ironman races as well as numerous half Ironman races.

William Martinez PT, OCS, FAAOMPT, CSCS Co-owner of Alves & Martinez Physical Therapy, William Martinez (Billy) specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School Programs in Physical Therapy. Before opening Alves & Martinez in 2001, Billy managed clinics and practiced in a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal settings across the US including Phoenix, Massachusetts and Seattle.

He has 25 years’ experience in developing programs for the training and rehabilitation of professional, collegiate and amateur athletes and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Billy has taught in the Clinical Orthopedics section in the physical therapy program at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts and has completed long-term programs in orthopedic manual therapy (OMT) in Sacramento, Folsom and San Francisco Bay area. A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT), Billy expanded his treatment specialty to include Pilates-based rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates. Billy is also trained (certification pending) in Functional Movement Assessment (FMS) screening, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and corrective exercises.
Billy offers his expertise and treatment to California State University, Sacramento Rugby and works with area cyclists, runners and triathletes. He enjoys time with his wife and son and is active in coaching youth sports in the area.

Karma Sage-Johnson PT, DPT, SCS, NASM-PES Karma Sage-Johnson received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University and is a Board Certified Sports Specialist. In addition, she is a Credentialed Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has completed the Scott Mat Pilates Training, and is ImPACT certified for concussion management and treatment. She also serves as a Clinical Content Expert for the Sports Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Karma’s past experiences have emphasized sports and orthopedic rehabilitation of high school, collegiate and professional athletes. Karma’s areas of interest and expertise include bio-mechanical and movement/sports assessment with an emphasis on exercise progression for optimal rehabilitation results.
When she is not working, Karma enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons at the beach/lake and watching football and basketball.

Eve’s experience treating performance and dance related injuries includes providing the physical therapy care for the Sacramento Ballet Company from 2005 until 2009 (providing pre-season health screenings for company members as well as physical therapy care during the performance season) and providing physical therapy care for some of the traveling companies contracted for the Sacramento Broadway series (Little House on the Prairie, A Chorus Line, Memphis.) Eve has also worked with individual performers from Music Circus as well as with local Sacramento dance studios, developing health and fitness education programs for dancers and participants. Prior to joining Alves & Martinez, Eve worked for Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento. She began her physical therapy career as a traveling PT, working in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation centers around the country. Eve has participated in multiple long-term continuing education programs including The Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in Burlington, MA; Folsom Physical Therapy Orthopedic Manual Therapy Program; and The Australian Approach to Treatment of the Spine in Roseville, CA. In 2009 she completed a Pilates Instructor training program through Balanced Body University and is certified through the
Pilates Method Alliance. Most recently Eve became a certified
LSVT-BIG provider.

Beverlee is a 2014 graduate of Andrew Taylor Still University of Health Sciences Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. She is an alumnus of the University of San Francisco (USF), where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sports Science cum laude.

Beverlee is a Sacramento native and has worked in physical therapy settings in California, Oklahoma and Arizona. She has experience ranging in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient, geriatrics, and wound care. She has a competitive background in golf and was a full scholarship athlete and MVP at USF. She has competed in three U.S. Women’s Amateur’s, one U.S. Girls Amateur, and has one won numerous tournaments including the California Girls and Women’s State Fair, and Sacramento City Championships. Beverlee enjoys yoga, hiking, baking, and reading in her free time.
